Make a gift to the MEF now.The Minervan Educational Foundation (MEF) was established in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Its mission is to engage in scientific, educational, athletic, and charitable acts or activities and to support the University of Vermont, the greater Burlington area, and Lambda Iota Society members in academic pursuits.
The foundation is connected with the Lambda Iota Society, which includes 600 living alumni around the world. It is a separate corporation devoted to scholarships, grants, and activities funding scholarship and learning.
Our customers are students of the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, Lambda Iota fraternity members, Lambda Iota Society, and other donors.
We add value by providing funding and support for scholarships, funding and support for formal grants, and a tax-deductible vehicle for donors to provide funds for scholarships and educational grants.
The MEF currently awards three scholarships:
- The MEF Book Scholarship Program: administered annually to qualifying University of Vermont students. Application process requires an essay, submission of transcript, and book receipts. Since inception, this program has paid $12,225 to 65 students.
